What is involved in vintage turntable repair and service? How much does it cost? What else do need to know? How long does it take?

Cost ranges from approximately $300 to $500 or more for more complex turntables.
Our backlog ranges from three to four weeks on average. It can vary, as much as eight weeks.
Call before coming it. For a cost estimate, and to for current backlog status.
No deposit is required. We simply ask for your approval for a number in advance based on repair costs for the same or similar models.

Key steps in turntable restoration and service:

For turntables, recapping also applies to all direct drive, and some belt drive turntables. In addition, turntable service includes the following:
Replacing all electrolytic capacitors
Repair or replacement of feet
Lubrication
Hand re-soldering
Cleaning controls and switches
Calibrating speed (where applicable)
Replace belts
Replace cables (when necessary)
Install new phono cartridge (as needed)
Cartridge alignment
Bias and balance tonearm
Clean and Detail unit inside and out

The parts we use always meet and typically exceed original specifications. Each completed restoration includes a full 90 day warranty.
